Would this not be perfect to hang in the bathroom? Or your kitchen, if you have a cockroach problem.

Nasty New Yorker

Tuesday, May 13, 2003

You live alone with your doggie, don't you Cindy...I thought New Yorker's were supposed to be some of the most sophisticated, cultured people in North America. For the record, I stand corrected.

Yesterday's New York Post featured an incredibly ignorant gossip column cutting up Canada, written by Cindy Adams, a dottering old hack who probably hasn't left New York State in the last 10 years, let alone the USA. According to Ms. Adams, Canada steals too many film shoots from poor old New York City. Awww, cry me a river.

The old bitty uses movies as an excuse to insult us in the stereotypical American fashion: describing Toronto as "SARS-larded", Nova Scotia and Alberta as cities ("whiz-banging pulsating downtown Alberta") and calling us "ungrateful" and "unneighbourly". Sometimes it seems Americans think they send financial aid to Canada, to hear them bitch about us.

But it doesn't end there. She says Canada "has tried to lure Hollywood away from New York, which has been looking to con even New York-themed projects into believing their antiseptic boring streets could look like ours." Now why would anyone in Canada want our streets to be mistaken for the filthy crime and rat-infested streets you walk everyday, Ms. Adams?

ali landry looking hot for jay and silent bob

Best. Site. Ever.

I was a little kid in the seventies, and made fun of older girls who went to great lengths to curl back the sides of their hair into long sausages. Some even carried a full-size can of Final Net in their purses (along with a pair of pliers to pull up too-tight jeans).

Little did I realize my hair would develop a natural wave, forcing me to battle the wingback look in my teens and adulthood.

I'm glad old styles always come back. I'm now queen of the feathered hairdo.
